Our mission
“Improving life for the people of Chilton Foliat and the surrounding rural countryside.”
We are a small, entirely volunteer-run charity — five trustees, no paid staff — who came together to build and run the Chilton Foliat Community Clubhouse. It is a place where local working families find affordable childcare, where toddlers play outdoors, where the village school learns, and where neighbours of every age gather and connect.
What we do
From the first years of life to the after-school years and beyond, the Clubhouse is here for our families and neighbours.
01
Early Birds breakfast club from 7.50am, After School Club until 6.00pm, and a Holiday Club — affordable care so local parents can work, run by Chilton Club Childcare.
02
A safe, natural outdoor play space — with a mud kitchen, wild planting and toddler-friendly areas — open to local baby and toddler groups to explore and grow.
03
Supporting our village primary school, including a dedicated classroom space within the Clubhouse — helping the next generation learn at the heart of the community.
04
Recreation, leisure and social activities that bring together families, children and older residents — keeping village life sociable, vibrant and connected.
Our story
It began with a simple belief: that a small rural village deserves a place of its own. So the community came together and raised over £85,000 — through a National Lottery Awards for All grant, the generosity of local donors, and even the schoolchildren's own fundraising efforts.
A genuine grassroots achievement — proof of what neighbours can build when they pull together.
The result was the Chilton Foliat Community Clubhouse, formally opened in January 2020 by the Bishop of Ramsbury. It stands today at the heart of the village — and we are only just getting started.
